Changelings; Creatures that look almost human, pale grey skin, eyes of solid and dark color, flattened nose, ears pointed, three additional pairs of candid teeth (one before the human variety and two behind the human variety), almost claw-like nails, the inability to grow hair beyond head hair, forked tongues, ‘half-length’ pinkies, lacking two toes that humans possess. They initially create illusory disguises, but that eventually shifts to full on bodily changes as they grow older (assuming they spend the time to learn the skill). These creatures are not related to humans, despite passing similarities, they evolved to predate on them.
Elves (I kind of want to give them a different name); Creatures with skin comprised of fine scales, a particular color based on their stage in life (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Dry, Rain, Calm, Typhoon), hands of two fingers and two thumbs, four eyed, two gill-like slits ‘along their cheekbones’ rather than a nose, small head and long neck, their mouth is mounted in their chest, digitigrade legs with cloven hooves. They possess head hair which is more grass-like than normal hair, broad and flat. Near immortal creatures who pupate periodically in their life. Each time they pupate, they become larger, stronger, tougher, generally more dangerous. Creatures with a memory granted to them when they emerge. These are born of a ‘world tree’, a plant which can observe the world and bears the fruit of new elves to protect itself, these creatures know much of what the tree itself sees and hears when they are born and pupate, their knowledge updated. Eventually, this knowledge extends to learning how to manipulate the world, crafting lesser artifacts, elixirs, magic. Though it is rare for one to survive to such a stage.(edited)
Ogres (again I want to change the name); Large creatures that stand slightly taller than a human, despite their silhouette lacking a head. Where a human has pecks, they have eyes (also mounted on their shoulders), where a human has an abdomen, these creatures have fanged maws. Their feet are trunk-like appendages from which sprouts four finger-like flanges equidistant from one another, their hands possessing three fingers and a thumb. Creatures of unparalleled hardiness and resilience, strong, regenerative, carapaced, these creatures have a long history of war and a violence. A sort of honor in death and survival.
Trolls (yet again consider renaming these); Horse-skulled (M) and Bird-skulled (F) creatures. Heads with a thin layer of flesh taught over it, furless necks, and furred bodies, often browns and tans, though black, orange, and blue are also possible. Digitigrade legs sports three claws and a fourth dewclaw, their hands possessing three fingers with a thumb coming from the center of their forearm. These creatures are strict vegetarians/frugovores. Natural born craftsman, they take up nearly any trade they have the opportunity to take up and become experts of such crafts, almost as if they inherent ancestral knowledge instinctively.
Arcanists (Definitely want to change the name); Are creatures that are colonies of microorganisms, resistant to poisons, diseases, possessing a human-like silhouette though stretched to be longer, they have three glowing eye-like spots on their 'heads'. These creatures live extremely long, virtually lacking a response to pain, but they take a comparatively long time to regrow lost organisms. They are extremely rare and are natural Mystics, capable of resisting corruption and peering into the souls of others. Their human-like appearance is due to co-opting the most common sapient species' appearance for self protection purposes. They are autotrophs and filter feeders of the atmosphere.
These races are my initial ideas for a game run with the Symbaroum system, with an added leveling shenanigans. I wanted to make things that were drastically different than humans despite being from the same planet and I think I succeeded in making interestingly different forms. Probably going to have another few updates detailing the levels and their different starts.
