So I have only had one blister in the 7 weeks of training, and I think so figured out the problem and how to prevent it. My boots are waterproof and therefore not breathable, so my feet get hot and therefore sweat around 10 miles in. If I can take off my boots before then and make sure my feet are dry, I think I’ll be ok. My normal routine is to apply body glide al over my feet and in between toes, wear toe sock liners, and then wool socks over this. This morning I also added some cushioned tape where the heel blister formed yesterday as well as under both big toes, which are getting calloused from the wet socks, maybe. I could be wrong, but I’m looking at callouses like the warning light for a blister. I’m 5 miles into today’s at least 10 mile walk.
