INKTOBERTALE day 5: Hourglass

Okay, but think about this:

Around 5-10 years after exiting the underground, Frisk gets tired of having to explain their adventure to the world, the news - everyone. So, they being the clever little child that they are, take notice of how popular video games are. And they decide to resolve their problem, with a little help from Alphys and Sans.

Eventually, UNDERTALE is released, and it becomes popular. Very, very popular. And maybe Frisk can just direct anyone who asks to their interactive masterpiece, and maybe UNDERTALE just stays inside that one timeline, and no one from the outside ever interferes with the timeline, letting the video game remain in that one universe.

Or maybe, one day, Ink visits that timeline. And, being the curious artist that he is, decides to check UNDERTALE out.

And he plays it, and finds it interesting that the classic universe's simple tale could grow to be so easily adapted into a game.

And Ink, probably after taking a curiosity vial, explores other timelines to see if they have the same outcome - making Frisk's adventure into a game. And there are a few, because of course there are. But Ink finds one universe...odd.

This universe has almost no connection to Undertale. In that universe, it's 2015, and there is no Mt. Ebbot. There are no monsters, no barrier, and certainly no video game. It's just...barren.

And sure, Ink might leave this universe alone, perhaps giggling over how this one stands out. How it's different from everything else in his Doodle Sphere.

But maybe he decides, just for once, that it wouldn't hurt to mess around with this universe a little. That it wouldn't hurt to break his rule of not interfering, because bringing something to a universe isn't technically messing with the script, right? There isn't a script to mess with, after all.

So, Ink, taking on the name of Toby Fox, makes a kickstarter for UNDERTALE. Just to see how it goes.

And that kickstarter gets funded. And maybe Ink gets a bit more curious.

He releases UNDERTALE as a fully - original video game, in this universe at least. And it grows. 

And Ink maybe leaves this universe alone, letting it grow by itself, and that universe starts a thing called the Undertale Fandom. And they make so, so many AUs.

And Ink can only grin.
