Theatre Gothic
You only intend to memorize your own lines, but soon the lines of your co-stars begin to drift through your head as you go about your routine. Scenes play in vivid detail over and over as you try to sleep. You cannot think without stage directions.
“All theaters are haunted” one of the ensemble members says. You know they are joking, but you swear you can’t remember what character they play, or having seen them backstage before.
You start to take your costume off, only to find that your regular clothes look strange and dated. Did you get them mixed up? Your costume and your regular clothes are starting to blur together. It’s hard to look at either for very long. You’re not sure you can tell the difference anymore.
Your friend asks if you can come over. You can’t, you have rehearsal. Your sister asks if you want to get coffee and catch up. You can’t, you have rehearsal. Your roommate calls to ask if you’re ever coming home. You can’t, you have rehearsal.
Tech week starts. The only words you are allowed to say are, “thank you, dark”. On the third day, the dark says “you’re welcome”.
A child asks you for help getting into their costume. It’s period, from the mid 1800s. You oblige. As they say thank you and run upstairs, you remember that the show you’re putting on doesn’t have any children in it. The show you’re putting on is set in 1995.
A member of the supporting cast came into rehearsal ten minutes late last week. He and the stage manager walked into the break room for a talk. Only the stage manager emerged.
You stumble upon the chorus in one of the wings, standing in a tight circle around a pool of dark liquid, chanting something you can’t quite make out. You are about to ask what they are doing, but before the question leaves your lips, they say, “warming up” in perfect unison. You are smart enough to nod and move on.
Benjamin loves you. Real life Benjamin for reference.

MORE ART FIGHT THIS IS NOT A DRILL! (my over-excited announcements of Art Fight posts are gonna get old reeeaaal fast huh) So here's Cassiel, he's pretty cute and I'm already a sucker for character designs featuring rainbows
(We're discouraged from share money-making stuff on Art Fight posts in good sportsmanship, the links are on all my normal junk.)
