Vira is a good fighter and she commands well in her own way. It is impressive she claws her way to a position of adequate leadership even without so good training as of Caesar’s men. While maybe she limits herself with her beliefs of others’ beliefs of her sex, I think she’s a woman who is not truly limited by her sex, even as a warrior.

She can leave a beautiful amount of destruction in her wake. I find her bloodlust admirable– Well above the average even for men... And without the low depravity of a Degenerate raider.

She feels like she would be an excellent Legion officer overall if she were a man– and could just calm her opinions down. Maybe she’ll produce fine sons for the Legion one day.

[Modern] "How little clothing will we be wearing this halloween, Val?"

“The ideal for me at the end of the night would be nothing, but until then...” He paused to stand next to Vera, as if considering an important decision. Which, in honesty, he was. This was possibly the most important decision of this year.

“Well, what are our options?”

Vera took a deep breath. Her father had been telling her to keep her temper, and consider consequences. She considered how difficult it would be to find a new roommate if she killed Alex. It helped, a little.

“Ah.” There was a long moment of silence. “Do you own kitty coffins in their sizes? Because that’s what you’ll need in about ten minutes.”

Alex stared at her.  “N-no? That’s why they’re here! I...” Shaking off his disbelief at her horrible suggestion, he explained: 

“You said I should date more, right? Well, I met this girl who works at an animal shelter and– Well, that didn’t work out... at all. BUT, these cats were gonna be put to sleep because no one would adopt them. Isn’t that sad?” He paused to push an ugly tortoiseshell persian off the top of the couch it was getting ready to scratch.

“It’s just until I find good homes for them. Promise.”
