The official splatoon twitter accounts recently posted about an arcade cabinet in raiders you can play "nostalgic" original games on! here's the translation of the cabinet display. MUSCORE might be a mispelling of MYSCORE, and i cant read the text on the top far right. i think JUGGLING is something like squidball. LANDING could be squid jump, but since since it looks like you're underground collecting spirlhalite shards, mining might be the squid jump-like game shown in the tweet. the other 2 i'm not 100% sure, but by process of elimination and the wording of "nostalgic", i'd guess it's a squid racer-like, and then a squid beatz kind of rhythm game. they could also just make a totally new game since it says "original" but i think that would make people upset LOL

(Hijacking my pinned post to say I need as much feedback as possible from Splatoon fans. Feedback on anything. Please)

The current Syllabary. I’m happy with it but it’s clearly not its final form to me.

INFO: This is what’s known as a Syllabary. That means each symbol represents a syllable. It’s very intentionally designed to be ‘rotationally unique’ as I call it; no symbol is an exact copy of another if rotated or inverted.

Vowel-less consonants all have a complete circle.

The letter sets have clear themes to them for easy identification.

A = Ah

E = Eh

I = Ee

O = Oh

U = Ooh

There are several kinds of symbols that can be seen all throughout the world of Splatoon. At least like five or more different sets that all look different from each other. I wanted to create my own set that takes a bit from each and looks accurate to the Splatoon universe without being a complete copy of any, which took a while, and I’m proud of what I made.

I updated all of my Splatoon script fonts

I recommend you get the new versions if you use these fonts often

I went through all the fonts I made of different Splatoon scripts and fixed some issues like the preview on Google Drive not working and changed it so the fonts are fully installable and have no restrictions when used in certain situations.

I was basically a noob with font files when I made the original ones and didn't even know I had wrong settings that restricted the fonts usage.

I also made it so the files only include the scripts characters and nothing else. With the old version I used the Splatoon 2 in game font as a base and replaced Aa to Zz with the respective script, but decided to keep the files small and clean now, also since I believe the font I used as a base caused some of the problems mentioned before

okay so like. Forgive me cuz i havent caught up on all the alterna lore butttt in splatsville, octolings and inklings lived together for a long time in peace and harmony right?

therefore, splatsville dialect must naturally be a more in-between of inkling and octoling languages... i have to worry if any ink octoling word scientists i forgot the word 💀 study it as a source of both the languages' histories and how the split into what it was today

i think, therefore, splatsville dialect is harder for inkopolis inklings to understand, but easier for underground octolings to understand-- agent 8 would find the dialect a lot easier to understand so she'd be able to use more eloquent words in their native tongue, along with independently studying inkling, perhaps why her amiibo dialogue in this game has gotten a lot better grammar wise! im so proud of her 💖💖💖

anyway I just think it's interesting to think about, it's like how north and south korean dialects split and are very hard to understand for the other group, and then the equivalent to splatsville dialect would be like how they spoke post 1940 for example
