Well, this couldn’t be good. Lavi regarded his blood stained hand, crimson liquid dripping from his fingertips, with a somewhat betrayed expression ( as if the mere sight of it was the reason why he was just shot ) before pressing it once more against his side, where the bullet had hit ; to try and stop the bleeding.
Go figure, that the time he finally gets wounded in such a manner, it wouldn’t have anything to do with akuma – Instead, humanity was yet again to blame.
Not having had very good experiences with stray bullets ; for he was shot at the age of 7 and barely managed not to die right there – Prompted him to send a concerned glance at the werewolf currently taking cover a few meters away from him while their attackers continued to fire in their general direction.
“ Those assholes are gonna get us killed for real !”
How things could have come to this point? What seemed like a simple task turned out to be a true nightmare. One mistake after the other, and other, and other... accumulating like an avalanche in the dense snow, mercilessly falling over the two. Fighting against akumas was one thing, fighting against mere humans was entirely different; And unbelievably more problematic given the supposed nature of the duties of the duo. She should have gotten used to wounds like those, wounds made by the hands of those she was supposed to protect that hurt her ego more than her own flesh. However something else pierced her chest; this unpleasant feeling of guilt and anger started to boil up inside her as the wolf glanced at her companion only to find his expression of agony, and shortly after, the red fluid dripping from his wound attesting the exorcist had been shot.
A sudden burst of agony ripped through her whilst she tried to help the human to keep on his feet. She was a timing bomb herself; no full control over her emotions could cause her to change and these circumstances were no exception; More than a matter of self-preservation it was someone else’s life that could be at stake. Although Lucia could feel the beast that was already painfully taking over her body and mind bit by bit as the rage grew, she remained static as she tried to get phonemes together to speak to the young Bookman, wobbly words fading into growling sounds; “I need you to trust me...!”
And before the boy could even notice, sharp and bestial teeth started to grow inside his gum, pulling off the human ones, which, in turn, started to fall down from her mouth as much as he tried hard to form a single word to speak to the human. Consequently, her mouth was soon filled with blood. Sounds of bones breaking and flesh being torn apart could be heard, muscles and bones slowly expanding beneath the derm. Her features twisted in agony due to the countless painful impulses, carried throughout her entire spine to her brain. Hopefully, her body would grow strong enough to take them out of that situation... Or at least serve as the main target for those people.
