I was able to make a boot drive of El Capitan while running Mountain Lion. It sorta worked but got all weird and shut down a bunch of times. So now I ripped out the drive and am using an older 2009 MacBook white to install it via a hard drive dock. Man this was not easy but I’m happy with the outcome. Hopefully this works. Turns out this MacBook is not gonna boot no matter what I try. I’ve fixed this issue before with a new hard drive cable but this seems to be something different. The frustrating thing is that the issues I’ve had are not consistent enough to narrow down the problem. It’s an old MacBook I bought for $400 in 2012 so I got a good 6 years out of it. The screen went on it a few years ago but we used it with a monitor. Like I said in my other post it was our living room computer so it wasn’t any of my editing systems but was nice to watch YouTube on. Inside an old 2010 MacBook that’s dying a slow death. The screen has issues but we still use it in the living room. I have a vga/video out box that gives me a couple analog feeds so I can use my 1998 Hitachi tube tv.
