New Release: "biermi Brian" Hazy IPA (6.0%) ft. Centennial & Citra Hops #InnerCircleSeries This is a special one. By this point, you are hopefully all familiar with biermi (@biermiplease). You may not be as familiar with the magician behind the keyboard. Brian O'Connor is a prodigy and a visionary. He conceptualized a home delivery platform for breweries long before the pandemic ever hit and when his big moment arrived, he coded the skeleton of the platform in 19 straight hours of heads down keyboard slapping. Brian is also an incredibly close friend. Brendan and Brian first met at 5 years old in a learn-to-skate program in Essex Junction, VT. Their first great act was jointly performing the Disney-On-Ice masterpiece for a crowd of enamored parents and bored siblings. This was the beginning of a lifetime of great acts performed together. They grew up playing hockey together. They went to high school together. They started a band together. They earned degrees at Georgia Tech together. They joined a fraternity together. They were roommates together. They got an off-campus house together. Brian was the best man at Brendan and Bailey's wedding. When it was time to create biermi, Brian teamed up with us again. However, Bailey got pretty seriously injured just two weeks after the pandemic hit and Brendan had to focus back at home and on True Respite covering the loss of Bailey's valuable input. That has left Brian running biermi nearly solo for months. He's smart, selfless, capable, motivated, and a wonderful friend. We're absolutely ecstatic to be able to immortalize his greatness with this release. In designing the beer, we asked him for his favorite hops and IPAs. Turns out he loves Centennial and Citra. Thus, "biermi Brian" was brewed with a keen eye towards marrying the classic Centennial character of Bell's Two Hearted Ale with the modern take on yeast, grist, and dry hopping regimen. The result is an herbal, citrusy, hazy IPA that simultaneously fits the present but harkens back to IPAs of yore. It's certainly a unique offering in our lineup and we're proud to use it as a vessel to share the story of the man, the myth, the legend... Brian O'Connor.
