Innovades and Innovators

Innovade: 17 Point Quality

In the not too distant future, the 2100s, a genius named Aeolia Schenberg will concoct a long-term plan to try and save humanity from self-destruction and prepare them properly for contact with extra-terrestrial species, or as he put it, “The Dialogues to Come.” To enact his plan, he invested in the creation of a powerful quantum computer and a new exotic particle, the GN-Particle, to facilitate this advance. And guiding its path into the future (as even the first major step wouldn’t be ready until the 2300s) were the Innovades. These genetically and nanomachine enhanced humans meant to guide humanity to become truly Innovative, or rather, Innovators. An artificial evolution of mankind.

How one could end up in the 20th/21st century is another matter, but there are many ways, from time travel, temporal distortion, or perhaps the Plan is even older than it is assumed.

Innovades were designed to survive long term in space stations and platforms. They regenerate their Constitution every hour and have a +1 Strength, +1 Dexterity, +3 Constitution, and +2 Intelligence. They may raise their attributes to Superhuman levels. They also have Fast Reaction Time and Situational Awareness. This is in part to Nanomachines, but also in part due to their Quantum Brainwaves (extra mental actions purchased separately). This can allow them to directly interfaces with machines designed to do so (the Jacked quality from All Tomorrow’s Zombies).

With enough GN particles in the air, they can remotely interface with the supercomputer Veda, but not all of them have such remote access or the powers this supercomputer grants. One of which can potentially bring them back to life.

Innovades don’t really see themselves as human beings with a body, but they view their bodies as remote terminals for their minds to access. As long as they can connect to Veda, they can continually send it information, and use it as an assist, granting a +1 to Knowledge and Science.

This doesn’t come for free, as the Innovades have an Obligation to Aeolia’s Plan (Total), and are expected to give their life up multiple times if necessary, to complete that goal.

They also have Secret (3 – The Plan), and Adversary 5 (Various Governments) as the plan cares little for international borders.

Their detachment from their physical body and unconcern nature regarding it make them a little socially awkward, in that they don’t have many of the prejudices of modern society.

Or even have a true gender identity as far as they are concerned. This gives them a 1 Point Minority drawback (Genderfluid), as well as Mild Cruelty.

Innovator: 18 Point Quality

The goal of Aeolia Shenberg’s plan to evolve humanity is to make them into Innovators. Innovators are superficially similar to both humans and Innovades, but much more than they are.

Innovators are adapted for life in space. They regenerate their Constitution every hour and have a +1 Strength, +1 Dexterity, +3 Constitution, and +2 Intelligence. They may raise their attributes to Superhuman levels. They also have Fast Reaction Time and Situational Awareness. This is in part to Nanomachines, but also in part due to their quantum brainwave patterns.

Their quantum brainwaves are so potent that it grants them Telepathy 1, and with enough GN Particles in the air, it can link them directly with other beings (in particular those who also have Quantum Brainwaves). However, extra mental actions are purchased separately. This can allow them to directly interfaces with machines designed to do so (the Jacked quality from All Tomorrow’s Zombies).

The key, however, is an enhanced sense of Empathy. This works as the Empathy quality, but it always can determine the true feelings of a person they read. By doing this, it enhances their ability to understand others, and thus diminishes the need for violence. By facilitating true and honest communication, Aeolia Shenberg hoped to bring an end to war.

This means they rather hard to get angry or provoke to violence, they have the Pacifist drawback at level 2. Because of their rarity and potential, they also have Adversary (4) from various world governments who’d love to have a closer look at them – often with a scalpel in hand – and even some Innovades who believe early appearances of any Innovators to be an aberration from the plan.
