The exhibition investigates the delicate line between storytelling and truth-telling through collage, painting, photography, and paper-based installation. The continuum of intergenerational resilience through the reimagining of the artists’ inheritance illuminates their commitment to kinship. The intrinsic ties of the deep ancestral roots of black folks, notably those of southern Louisiana, have called these artists to express not just for themselves but for the generations who have come before.
