Dib had been missing.
Not that it was a..bad thing, no, it was fantastic. With his nemesis gone, the one who always put a stop to his plans, tried to expose him time and time again, things had been going so smoothly. ( Well, for the most part. Zim still found a way to mess up his own plans, leading to his own downfall, but he would like to think that things were going better without Dib around. ) But the issue was–it was almost sort of boring without some sort of conflict. At least when he was at Skool, humiliating Dib and getting all the children to side with Zim would bring him some sort of amusement, but now he had to actually pay attention in class. That, and, would his taking over the Earth really be quite as satisfying if Dib were not there to see it and suffer the consequences of his own failure? These were Zims reasons for trying to locate the coordinates of Dib, to find out where he went. If there was a tiny part of his mind that was genuinely curious as to where the boy had went, then–well, he ignored it.
After using his computer to aid him in locating the general whereabouts of Dib, Zim had decided to take initiative and personally seek the human out. He didn’t fully understand the purpose of the building that his enemy was currently held captive in; he could only assume this must had been apart of some sort of scheme of Dib’s. He was likely in there, plotting against ZIM! He couldn’t allow Dib to be there..doing..DIB stuff without his knowing!
Sneaking into the building had been relatively easy, though finding his way around was not. Zim had been using his PAK legs to scale the ceilings and air vents as a way to stay relatively hidden. This building...was it some sort of..science lab? Was Dib making his threats of experimenting on Zim a reality? Zim shuddered at the idea. It wasn’t something he could allow to happen. Failure was not an option. Spotting what he believed was a familiar spike of hair from behind, he dropped from the ceiling, taking a breath to call his enemy out. Before he had the chance to even take a step forward, two pairs of strong arms grabbed Zim, and he screamed.
