Every Time I Worked Out 9-26-2016 to 10-2-2016
9-26: Jessica Smith TV Cardio Mat Fusion II and static trapeze. We wanted to do more mild cardio both for Drew's foot and because last week we were so exhausted at static after Insanity Max 30. I always enjoy Jessica Smith's workouts, since they tend to have some ballet-esque moves that are so pretty. Also Peanut was hilarious. Great static class; two good routine run throughs with solid energy (second was better than first, overall). Also worked on pops to crucifix and then then beating out of crucifix; good progress on both. Drew and I played a bit (washing machine, split twist, front-balance twist, lie back to lupe) and drilled a little bit.
9-27: Body Best Bulk Chest and cyr wheel. Chest felt hard again, and I think it's because of static the day before (more arms than chest being tired), but overall I had more energy. Okay cyr wheel class; Drew sat it out because of his foot (just being cautious), so I had a ton of time on the wheel. Mostly played with elbow hang and forte turns. Ripped my hand, which is sad.
9-28: Functionally a rest day, due to the hand rip. Took one swing, and decided I shouldn't give all the static I need to be up for. Sad, but taking off and flying felt good otherwise and not scary.
9-29: Body Beast Build Shoulders For some reason doing Build rather than Bulk seemed more appealing. Overall it wasn't too bad, though at one point with about 23min left I did stop and scream "when will it end I just want it to be over I hate this so much gahhhhhh!"
9-30: Static Trapeze and Insane Abs from Insanity. Did another Mobtown run through, doing the routine twice. Overall, felt great about both run throughs (though I did really make Drew work for the tick-tock mount the second time). Almost time to perform, so I'm glad it's so solid at this point. Insane Abs is 33min, which is long for an ab workout. It's in three sections: warm-up/jumps, seated/back, and planks. Abs are always on the easy side for me, which was good since I was tired.
10-1: Open hang and Body Beast Bulk Arms. Did a little under an hour at open hang; with static we played with new stuff (sequencing twisty scorpion roll to lie back to lupe); worked on reverse forte turns, elbow hang, waltzing with one hand, and something that is supposed to help you get to superman on cyr.
10-2: Insanity the Asylum: Back and Six Pack. This is our last intense workout before the wedding; we're attempting a taper week with just aerial and light workouts. We certainly picked an intense one to end on! After the warm-up you do a series of pull-up variations alternating with HIIT-ish ab moves (like ski abs, burpees, and floor sprints), then you do an alternating plank/seated ab circuit, a back with bands on legs and arms set, followed by a horrible back to plank series (superman pulses with weights, it's horrible). Then to end you go back to the pull-up variations alternating with seated abs. I could tell I've gotten stronger, particularly with my grip strength (there's one move where you do a pull-up and then hold at the top for five counts, and I've gotten significantly better on that one).
