Black Widow - Impossible Creatures: Insect Invasion

That sure is a black widow, possibly the most iconic spider out there. It can poison enemies, throw webs and has the "Loner" attribute that makes it a lot stronger if it has no allies nearby.

Something about the model doesn't feel right though. It seems too bulky and powerful maybe? The real ones have this spindly, fragile-looking quality to them, fitting for something that has potent enough venom to not need brute force.

Bombardier Beetle - Impossible Creatures: Insect Invasion

The baseline bombardier beetle that can be combined with other creatures, allowing access to the long-range "Chemical Artillery" attack, as well as a short range hover that many bugs.

While I've seen images of bombardier beetles with swollen abdomens that make their elytra seem small, this one's elytra seem to have sort of atrophied, becoming thin and translucent. (Well, either that or it just doesn't have them and we're seeing the hindwings.) The concept art shows elytra similar to the real thing, so perhaps the 3D artists got a little confused.

I’ve been waking up earlier lately, which is nice, but “waking up” does not necessarily mean “getting out of bed”. I tend to lie there until I’m for sure going to be late for work. I’m taking baby steps towards a responsible life. So, I’m laying there this morning bracing myself for the day when my lovely girlfriend says “oh my god”. I know shit has already started. She directs my attention to the wall beside our bed, and there is this huge fucking roach, one of the ones old people call “waterbugs” so you don’t freak out. It’s above us, and I know those things can fly. It started crawling, and I got out of bed real fucking quick. The bug crawls on the wall for a minute, heading for the space directly above our bed, when it falls off the ceiling and into my fucking shoe. I haven’t seen him since. I can’t sleep right now.

Why does the government essentially defend biotech corporations and impose a severe pesticide policy? Are they preparing for a coming insect invasion? Perhaps the rank of Monsanto suggests that government insiders expect huge swarms of newly hatched mutant DNA to begin marching across the land, increasing the surface biomass to damaging levels.

I literally just took a shower with a cockroach. Luckily I am not a screamer and I managed to get it out of the shower from behind the curtain and onto the floor. Then, I smashed the bug-eyed little bastard with an Aveeno lotion bottle. Fun times. -_-
