With that post about the unemployed friend and the benefits, I got to thinking. In my tags I had said 'being on ssdi feels similar except I'm unreliable'
@diploglottis messaged me with this:
"But you kind of are full time employed dealing with disability and health issues which at times are probably more like working full time on-call or full time shift work due to not really having a schedule of when things are going to flare up?"
And it's got me Pondering at two in the morning.
Getting a part time job while on SSDI gets tricky, because they'll want to track everything. Plus... the flare ups at inconvenient times. I am deeply terrified that the Trump administration will come after SSDI and my monthly payments will be cut. That terror is fueling a mild paranoia. I try not to think about it.
Anxiety shows up again and leans against my shoulder making snide comments about how nobody will hire me with my unreliability and I won't be able to get income in any form and I'll ruin my own life or something. And then I consider that this feeling must be very common these days. Gods, I need to find community again.
