It's official, Miss Scarlet Season 6 is happening and if we get the romance we're hoping for, this arc can be for the softies.
It’s official: Miss Scarlet is returning for Season 6, and we couldn’t be happier about it. Many fans (ourselves included) were initially apprehensive about the changes the series undergoes in the absence of Stuart Martin’s The Duke, yet as we’ve seen with the thrilling fifth season, the series still soars, and this arc is basically tailor-made for the softies—the bookworms who love a good single-dad trope romance.
In addition to the series regulars, Miss Scarlet Season 6 will also see the return of a beloved character we’ve been desperately missing, Ansu Kabia’s Moses Valentine. Miss Scarlet Season 5's finale undoubtedly sets up an intriguing romance between Eliza and Inspector Blake.
Viewers understandably still have hesitations about Miss Scarlet Season 5 and the changes from William’s departure. No one can say for sure; however, the finale isn’t without its hints and soft moments that showcase where the show can go.
First, and perhaps most importantly, there’s something to be said about how Eliza is more open this season than she was before, and a large part of it has to do with the fact that she isn’t tiptoeing around rules. The history between William and Eliza is rich and wonderful and undoubtedly profound, but they’re both two characters set firmly in their ways, which would be a detriment to them as individuals if one had to change fully. Therefore, it’s understandable that if the series wants to include a romance in the narrative, it would be between two people who are a bit more alike in their viewpoints.

Miss Scarlet's Season 5 finale gives us an intriguing moment that changes the game with Eliza and Inspector Blake.
Choices always matter. They especially matter in fictional properties when writers are gradually trying to showcase characters making decisions. It’s been a while since Miss Scarlet Season 5 ended, yet I still can’t stop thinking about Eliza’s decision to bring Inspector Blake cake from Ivy’s wedding.
We’ve already discussed how the fifth season sets up an intriguing romance and how the sixth can kickstart a whole new adventure, but the choice here is so fascinating when we examine every little thing that’s come before it, too. First, this is a wedding cake. Perhaps not for English customs, but many cultures view the wedding cake as a sacred thing. Some even freeze it for a year. Second, the fact that Eliza leaves this wedding for Inspector Blake and his daughter is a big deal because it’s basically the equivalent of leaving her mother’s wedding. That’s how close she and Ivy are.
