inspirational stories for teachers- Sweet Memories That Stay
A few years ago, I was called in haste to replace an absent teacher. It was late, and the class will last two hours ...
But its effects will remain with me forever.
I prepared some warm-up activities, and just left the language school.
It was a small class - only 5 students in it. One of them caught my attention in a particular way, for his great interest in learning.
The class flowed naturally ... We had some exercises, reading text, exercises and so on. When the weather was to practice listening skills, I played a CD, and asked some follow up questions.
They seemed a little confused, and spoke in his ear: "English is so difficult ..."
I recognized it as a valuable time to make things clearer. Recalling the theme "What we still do becomes easier, as our capacity increases," I challenge you to listen carefully to this specific topic.
I played 4 times, and finally some of them shouted: "we understand now" (music to my ears ...)
Another concluded: "I thought you changed the track is very easy to follow."
I can not describe how I felt. I was just asked to do the same with each track on the CD when they arrived at home, and moved on. As everyone was happy, everyone agreed to do it later.
But the best was yet to come ...
Once the class was over, they were ready to go. I felt the satisfaction of a job well done.
After collecting the material, I was in the classroom when I noticed something "different" with the girl, I've said.
I saw one in the hallway. She was trembling. I called her by name. When he turned around, I was surprised: She was crying!
"What happened?" I asked. "I said something wrong?"
She replied:
"Yes, it was something you said. But nothing wrong with that. Spoke words ... For the first time, someone made me believe that I can speak English!"
Wow! It was great! (She had studied for a year, although I could not believe it!)
I thanked him for his kind words, and I went down, trying to hold back the tears ...
Whenever I feel depressed or tired of my work, inspiring stories like this reminds me that education is really, really worth ...
And I will never forget
