Leaning up against a wall, arms tightly crossed, Shiro bit the inside of his lip. His eyes lacked focus, drawn to the floor at his feet. There was so much he couldn't say. Not even to Keith.
"I didn't mean to make you upset saying that," he drew out slowly. "But sometimes I can't shake the feeling."
He lifted his chin, leaning the back of his head along the wall. Thoughts perpetuated in his mind, reigniting emotions he long buried. The worst part: he wanted to tell them. He wanted someone to hear him out, but because of the purpose he served, the person he was, he'd somehow convinced himself out of ever showing a moment of vulnerability. So many people looked up to him, relied on his unwavering resolve, that obligation made him nearly invulnerable.
"What if I'm not half the person I am standing in front of you?" He paused. "Actually, don't answer that." Forcing a snicker, he added, "At this point, it's all just mindless rambling."
