Title: Boundaries Author: @shiftylinguini Pairing: Draco Malfoy/Albus Severus Potter Rating: Explicit Word Count: 1200 Content: Cross-gen relationship, First time, Switching, Anal Sex, Rimming, Praise Kink. Summary: Albus is not a reckless man, but Draco makes him want, and what are boundaries for if not to be tested?
My thoughts: I barely know what to say about this fic. It’s one of those stories that’s so small, so self-contained in its perfection that you can’t help reading it over and over (which I have). This fic features Albus working for Draco as they approach and swerve away from their attraction and slowly-built mutual fascination from each other. Told from Albus’s (third person) perspective, it has an amazing dreamy quality to it, and an evocative bittersweet feel. It also features some of the most gorgeous lines I’ve ever read. Even if this pairing isn’t your shtick, I feel pretty damned confident recommending that you run to read this fic—you won’t regret it.
Title: Safe Author @shiftylinguini Pairing: Harry Potter/Sirius Black Rating: Mature Word Count: 1950 Content: Cross-gen relationship, bed sharing, reference to canon deaths. Summary: He’s not James, Sirius tells himself as Harry gets into bed with him on a cold Monday night. He’s not James, but Sirius is not Padfoot anymore either.
My thoughts: Aannnd this is why I so rarely make recs. Because when I fall in love like I have here, the words never seem to be enough. Another one of shiftylinguini’s lovely pieces, so sweetly written that you can’t help but fall in love with the dynamic. Without spoiling too much (I hope), I’ll say that this fic depicts Sirius finding his way back to Harry after the war and details his desire and internal conflict over the nature of his relationship with his godson, as well as some of the most beautiful references to the marauders – and other people Sirius has known and lost – you’ll ever find. Another fic in which you won’t care that it isn’t drarry, because it needs to be this.
And just in case you need some drarry before you come to love and trust this author enough to dive into her other pairings, might I suggest Model Behaviour? Though I know it’s been recced a lot lately, there’s a reason for that: It’s hilariously written, adorably in character for both of the boys, and begins with Draco as a nude model in Harry’s art class. I’m currently devouring it for like the ninth time, and can’t get enough.
