i think what’s really special about bleach in the big three is that despite some narrative decisions i think were truly made out of spite, bleach offers a lot more questions than answers, and this actually feels intentional the longer i chew on it

like the overarching message i feel is, “what do you think is the meaning of all of this that i’ve shown you” where fundamentally kubo is not interested in your answer for the sake of agreeing with him (which is why he reacted so negatively to people trying to dictate it) as opposed to oda or kishimoto whose messaging is more along the lines of “let me tell you a grand tale”

Well, as I'm sure you've noticed, sleep can be scarce for one such as myself. My days are often plagued with miscellaneous duties, such as performances and social gatherings, and I'm sure Alois has his fair share of... Well, whatever it is he does, I pay little heed. None the less, when all is said and done with, I retire to my quarters as per usual. I believe we all do, oui? Granted, I'm not proud to say that I've found myself on the floorboards of some strange estate more than once; it is entirely possible that Alois had fallen to slumber under the same roof. In fact, I recall once waking to the living room of Mademoiselle Justine and found darling Alois cradling some book of poetry from her library. He was fast asleep, mind you, so I suppose that would count as one time vivid in my memory. I couldn't find my shirt and only possessed one boot from my pair, so you can imagine that I was out of sorts with myself.
