Part 6/6 of Mira's First Scheme to get out of the friendzone with her bandmates. The 'Afterwards' was entirely unplanned and kinda just happened. Enjoy!
Z: Maybe she ran out of soap in the gym shower? [She didn't]
Artist Note: Rumi...Rumi? Don't stare too long, dinner is still on the stove >.> [its ok, the sensitive fire alarm lets them know its getting just a tiny bit smokey in here, dinner is saved]
[Afterwards:
M [as she joins after her shower]: Is our dinner still edible or was it cremated? [She jokes, poking fun at Rumi who has only come close to burning down the kitchen once and that was ten years ago. But she should know by now that she'll never live it down.]
R: [Rolling her eyes] Dinner survived, but the floor didn't. You can thank Zo, for cleaning up ur sweat. [R doesnt look up as she takes a bite, almost annoyed]
M: [kisses Zoey's cheek] Thanks Zo.
Z: Mhm O.O [coughs into her fist to stifle her giggle, then begins stuffing her face like she's starving. Anything to take her mind off of Mira's soft lips on her flushed cheeks]
R: [looking at Mira with a raised brow as the dancer eats with a smile on her face looking like the cat that got the cream] So... anything on your mind Mira? You're acting... weird.
M: No, just enjoying dinner. It did turn out really good. You did so well and we didn't have to put out any fires. [She gave a cocky smirk as she tilted her head, as if she were challenging Rumi to retort]
R: I wouldn't have gotten distracted if you didn't come up here looking like-! [Her voice caught in her throat as she realized what she was about to say and how it could be considered weird to be thirsting over your friend and bandmate who you were still trying to mend your relationship with because of years of past mistakes...]
M: Looking like what? Do tell...
Z: [Frozen with a bite in her mouth as she had stopped chewing. She may have also gotten distracted by Mira's chiseled midriff, but surely Mira didn't come up here looking like that to egg them on right? I mean they were friends, bandmates, they had been training together for so long and have seen each other with bare stomachs before, why was this different. Maybe it was just because her and Rumi weren't at the gym with her and they weren't expecting it...or maybe because Mira had been getting more...affectionate? touchy? sometimes flirty? Zoey finally swallowed her bite and opened her mouth to finish Rumi's statement. But their leader glared at her and her mouth snapped shut as she raised her hands in defense and took her, now empty, plate to the sink.]
R: [Rolling her eyes at Mira's goading expression] A prima donna who needs to learn to shower at the gym after a work out. [She took her last two bites and shoved them in her mouth before scooping up her plate and standing]
M: [A bit of anger rose in her chest] I shower at the gym literally every time except today. And I could have easily cleaned the floor when I got out. I don't need special treatment. [She replied with a bite to her words]
R: You had to know that Zoey was going to clean it up though, she does everything to help and never puts herself first.
[Okay it wasn't that serious, and each of the girls knew it wasn't. Especially Zoey who was now standing in the open area between the kitchen and the dining table.]
Z: Guys, stop. [Zoey's voice was stern but she was more in disbelief at how actually dumb this argument was] Are you seriously arguing about the fact that Mira irl thirst trapped us, and I just so happened to clean up the few drops of sweat that fell to the floor. Which was literally just such a small area, could count them on one hand and took all of five seconds. Am I a people pleaser, yeah and I'm working on it, but I'm also not the only one that cleans up the other two's messes, so that's an irrelevant point. Ru, you know just as well as I do that Mira isn't a prima donna, I think you said that because there's still some underlying feelings you haven't worked through yet. Have you scheduled with the therapist yet?
R: [Still holding her plate and scratching at it softly, looking guilty] No, not yet.
Z: Okay, we'll all do some research tonight, together, during couch time, and schedule appointments together.
M: Wait, why do I-
Z: Mir, your first reaction was to retaliate and Rumi isn't the only one that has trauma. I'm saying this because I care about both of you, we're all going to get professional help.
R: You know as the leader I can-
Z: As the caring friend that I am, respectfully, I'm sure Bobby would love to hear the rest of that statement.
R: [Falls silent immediately and takes her plate to the sink before rejoining them] I'm uhhh...I'm sorry, Mir. Sometimes I think I forget that I don't have to keep you both at a distance anymore. I know you're not a prima donna and you don't need special treatment, you're very...capable. [She finished her statement grabbing Mira's plate to take to the sink and finish cleaning up dinner.]
M: Hey, wait, [She follows her to the kitchen] If I'm capable then let me clean up dinner [She said as she looked at Rumi with a soft smile]
R: It's fine, I-
M: You cooked, we'll clean. Those are the rules of dinner, remember?
Z: [Nods as she takes the plate out of Rumi's hand and places it in the sink, then both her and Mira pushed Rumi into the living room and onto the couch]
M: [Before returning to the kitchen to finish cleaning she looks at Rumi, knowing what she has to say] Sorry that I snapped back...I did kind of...bite the hand that feeds, so to speak
R: [Smiling softly] It's okay, we both kinda acted out of line, but we'll figure things out.
M: [Nodding as she thinks about spilling her feelings to her best friend, to both of her best friends] I- um, wanna watch some Dropout for couch time tonight?
R: Yeah, but I thought you didn't care for most of their stu-
M: It's grown on me [She cuts her off to say her piece then joins Zoey to clean. She may have told Rumi a couple of years ago that she didn't like most of Dropouts content but, truth was, she loved it. Yeah it was funny, creative, and on occasion really heartwarming; she genuinely liked it. But what she really loved about it was the sweet sound of laughter from her friends when a really funny joke or bit made them lose it. The fact that Rumi would cover her mouth if she snorted and hit Mira with a pillow when she gave her that chastising look. Or when Zoey would pause before a prompt was attempted and would act it out herself then make the other two rate her's versus the Dropout team's. Zoey of course always won, but sometimes it was a close call, gotta keep her humble you know.]
[Life was good, even if this plan kinda backfired, she convinced herself of one thing.....]
