Doing some blend experimentation today for my next tea party: Golden Spring, Lapsang, and Chrysanthemum. When I blend I do it as much for looks as I do for flavor. This one is spot on in appearance, but I think I might need to adjust the quantities a bit. It’s an interesting brew for sure, and one I will happily drink even a little out of balance. A closer look at the gorgeous Victoria C&E teacup from yesterday’s post. I’m not normally drawn to the colour yellow, but this cup was just too striking to pass up. This is definitely a statement cup with its marigold yellow background and pebble-like gilding in different size circles. This beautiful cup was recently passed on to me from a distant relation. I wish I had a big enough house to take all the stray heirlooms from every extended family member. I may not know the history behind the pieces I do have, but I cherish the connection nonetheless. Needed a break from pretending to clean and organize my tea room. It’s currently in a state of disaster that is proving difficult to master. I’m having to shimmy around precarious piles only to make new piles while I consolidate. Obviously it’s a lot of fun as well, but I’m taking the break anyway.
