This is a Chinese Puerh tea stuffed into a pomelo (You Zi Cha), c. 1990s, and allowed to age. I purchased it from David Lee Hoffman of “The Phoenix Collection” in Laguinitas, California, in 2017. Since then I’ve been chipping away at it. It brews very clear and aromatic infusions, both earthy and yes, citrusy. I brewed it a few times one morning, then again later that day, then again the next morning. By then it still had such nice flavor. A sign of a good tea. See the original post on this tea.

On Friday my mom surprised my grandma and I with afternoon tea at @parisinacup in Orange, CA. I’ve seen them written up in @teatimemagazine before and was hoping someday I’d get a chance to go! The food was very good and served in really generous portions, so you can take a little nibble home and make the experience last even longer. Atmosphere was cool and there were neat touches of design everywhere you looked. I can’t wait to go back someday and treat myself- hopefully after a long and fruitful day of antiquing, since they are nestled in amongst an entire block of antique stores! We were there to celebrate my Gramie turning 91 on Wednesday. Doesn’t she look great?! Golden Light by @smithteamaker - served at my Golden Oldies Tea Party. Could there have been a more perfect tea? I simply cannot watch The Great British Bake Off without craving a cup of tea and a pastry.
