usually penny was roman’s hiking buddy, but since she’d left he didn’t have anyone to go explore with anymore. roman hadn’t expected to actually be able to convince leo to come along, it had been sort of a joke to even try, but somehow here they were. maybe he should’ve known this wouldn’t end well for the both of them, but especially for roman himself. only a few days ago he’d had a whole conversation with callie about how as kids they thought quicksand would be a much bigger problem than it actually turned out to be. so of course, that was what roman had walked right into, and he was sinking deeper into it by the second. ‘just fucking grab my hand and pull!’ he yelled at leo, an expression of pure panic on his face. ‘just pull me out, i don’t care how!’

‘do it. just...’ roman glanced over his shoulder to check if the room was still empty. they had ended up in a part of the louvre with apparently a lot of art that was way less popular than the mona lisa, because they hadn’t seen anyone in a while. this of course, because it was leo and roman, led to trouble. ‘just rip it off the wall.’ roman encouraged leo. he had scoped out the room, and there were no visible cameras. maybe they had installed hidden ones, but, hey, it wasn’t like they were stealing art. just the little title plate next to one of the random paintings. although roman wasn’t entirely convinced if leo would actually do it. was this, finally, a dare they could not complete? ‘come on, it’s a dare, you have to at least try.’

roman had a very strict bed time, usually. partially because he was a grandpa, partially because he was a baby. his time in the resort had kind of ruined that though. he also discovered that he absolutely hated being filmed while asleep. so instead, he decided to grab a midnight snack, bumping into leo in the kitchen, who had apparently had a similar idea. the only downside of staying up past his usual bedtime was that roman could feel the tiredness tugging on his brain. like he wasn’t actually fully awake, or some type of fog was making it harder to think. ‘can you hand me that spoon?’ he asked leo, pointing at the object he was about to stir the phenomenal mircrowave mac ‘n cheese with he’d just made for leo and himself (’see, leo, i’d make a great housewife!’). ‘alright,’ roman said when he was finished stirring, ‘let’s put these babies in the microwave.’

whenever roman and leo were together, nothing good happened. generally, they spread chaos all around them wherever they went. however, roman - being the considerate person that he was - tried not to be more of a nuisance to innocent bystanders than he had to be. that would probably change after tonight. there was also a big chance that brad - poor brad - was finally going to fire both him and leo. if not over the fact that they’d gone up to the roof in the middle of a snow storm and then locked themselves out, then it would be because of how they were going to get themselves out of this situation. ‘nothing’s going to fucking burn in this fucking weather.’ roman said. since he hung out so much with callie he’d taken up the habit of just carrying a lighter with him, just in case she forgot hers. however, it would now be the thing that rescued him and leo. it was just that one small lighter was not going to be enough to set off the fire alarm. roman waved the lighter at leo. ‘do you have any bright ideas, einstein?’

it was half past two at night and usually roman, who valued sleep over practically everything, would be dreaming away in his bed, preferably accompanied by either a certain blonde or mimi. except he was standing in the snow, with just his vans, a pair of christmas themed pyjama bottoms and a hoodie. ‘i think this is a good spot?’ he turned around to look at leo, just a few feet away. the thing was: yes, sleep was holy, but he could never turn down a dare. so when leo called him awake to tell him he had to make a snow angel right fucking now, that was what roman was going to do.

‘i have a weird craving for like.. setting fire to something. that’s just the mood for today.’ edith mentioned casually while emptying her bag on mama dee’s counter, with leo on the other side of it. her comment was, of course, directed at leo, but she didn’t even glance at him while talking. instead she rummaged through the contents of her bag, fished out her cigarettes and a neon slime green lighter. ‘like i know there’d be consequences but also, who says i’d get caught.’ she put one cigarette between her lips, then lifted her lighter to light it, but she stopped mid-air, finally making contact with leo. ‘oh, fuck. no smoking inside. god fucking dammit.’ edith was notorious for being kicked out for smoking inside of establishments, but mama dee’s had a special place in her heart, she could make an exception. instead, she put the unlit cigarette behind her ear and shoved all her belongings back in her back without much care. ‘the universe is against me today. but what else is new. what time do you get back your freedom again tonight?’

“There’s my favorite little cub.” He said as the door opened. No matter how big Nem was, he would always be Leo's little brother. Being back in Portland, he'd decided to drop in on that little brother. That was what they always did- just dropped in on Nem when they were around. Right now it was just Leo though. His smile faltered and shifted into a smirk when he caught a slightly floral scent drifting out from behind his brother- a distinctly feminine scent. "Am I interrupting something?" He teased. @miss-efthalia
