Dear Integrity,

What you’re feeling is rational. It is understandable to lash out when one is feeling frustrated about something, no matter the severity of the situation. The important thing is to not let that anger control you. Instead, keep in mind that no matter what, things have changed for you. Things changed for you then. Things will change for you now.

Blaming yourself & solely yourself for the bad things that happened will only make things worse. There were a series of events that led to those moments, the weight is not just on your shoulders. You are not the only one at fault with what happened...& you should not feel as if you need to defend yourself so vehemently.

It’s okay to feel frustrated. It’s okay to be angry. But don’t let those memories torment you. Don’t let yourself drown in that guilt. Realize that what happened was bound to occur eventually, & despite it all, you’ve made it through. You’re here now. You’re here with people who love & care for you. & no matter what, they will be there at your side to support you through your grief. 

So don’t shun them. Don’t turn them away. Accept their warmth, & let it sink into your soul. Let yourself heal. Let yourself move on.
