Jo kicked off her shoes, feeling the cool sand under her feet as she wandered closer to the water. She glanced over at Liliana, who was trailing a few steps behind. She sighed as her feet touched the water.
"It's pretty good, not too cold," Jo commented, turning around to see her friend. "Feels nice on a day like this!" she added, stretching her arms above her head.

No one was surprised to learn that Camila had been in her lab when everything went down. She'd been vaguely aware of the storm coming up but didn't think it would be that big of a deal so she'd continued working, even after she heard that they were supposed to stay put. She was staying put...in her lab. At some point, she'd wanted a warm drink, leaning towards a tea, and thought it would be a good opportunity to see how the world was holding up down there. Cup from the vending machine in her hand, lemon tea, she sat down near a woman she'd seen here and there. "Stuck here then?"

Riley was sitting at a table near the window, leaning back in their chair, observing the customers move about the coffee shop. They'd gotten off of work about half an hour ago but got caught in a conversation with a colleagues so they got to the shop a few minutes ago. Right on time. Indeed, Liliana and them had talked about getting coffee sometimes and as people with busy lives, they were just getting to it. Riley was glad this was happening. They loved spending time with people they loved, especially around Christmas time, which they couldn't be more excited for.
They smiled as they waved at their friend coming in. "I've already got my order, I'll wait here while you get yours."

"Flowers are a good gift, right?" Riley asked as they looked around the flower shop. As it was soon going to be their adoptive mother's birthday, the party being the next day, panicked ensued as Riley had to find a gift. Mama Day wasn't too fussy about gifts and in fact asked for no gifts. Which she did every year and Riley tried every year to find something small to gift her. Problem was Riley was terrible at gifts. Which is why they asked Lili to come with her for this errand. "What kind would be the best?"
