Hook, Line and Sinker [Peter and James]
Homesickness wasn't really a feeling Peter could recall experiencing much of. Sorrow, jealousy, rage - even with old memories flooding to intermingle with the present, they could never place a particular event that had left him feeling so... empty. Wendy had mentioned something about this, that much they could remember; that annoying tug-- no, maybe it was an ache? Kind of like when you ate too much Halloween candy, except in your chest. Yeah, that seemed pretty accurate.
He missed the lost boys - knuckle-headed and irksome as they tended to be, he'd loved them as if they were his very own brothers. They practically were, in all honesty. They, Tink, Wendy, John, Michael - the best of friends Peter could have ever wished and hoped for. As it was, he'd yet to come across them, or anyone from Neverland that he could recognize in Mythos. Then again, their search was rather stunted by stupid work obligations, and the general tendency to lose themselves in the recesses of their own mind.
... Like now, shuffling through the snow-covered sidewalk rather sullenly as his thoughts shifted and spiraled downwards. Come on, there had to be some way to rid himself of this stupid, sour mood. Raising their eyes, Peter attempted to focus their gaze on something - anything - hope welling up that, maybe if they willed hard enough, a solution would plop right into their waiting hands. It certainly wasn't impossible, after all--
Wait.
Was that?... No, no that couldn't be possible - not after all this time...?
But maybe it was. Peter's eyes took on new life, seemingly gleaming beneath their messy, dark tresses. They had to be sure - and what better way to find out than a little experiment? Kneeling down slowly onto the snow-covered pavement, their fingers molding a mound of the powder into a near-perfect sphere.
Still cautious in his movements, Peter narrowed his eyes upon the target, arm rearing back before finally slinging the projectile forward - with a direct hit to the back of his head!
