There were still just enough areas of the Malnati that Tyler had found went untouched by guests for the most part. The staff break room, obviously, the roof, the outdoor pool after 7 pm, and the southeast back courtyard. It wasn’t a huge space, just a small expanse of cement with a couple stone tables with benches. There was a small grass area under a tree, too. It mostly just served as a ‘scenic’ route in cutting through the back staff parking lot, or if anyone was taking the long way around to the front of the building, so its foot traffic was a little less than the main courtyard on the other side of the hotel. Tyler liked this space, though. It was generally secluded enough that she could get away with making a mess and not having anyone notice. Her hair was a mess - having not even bothered to brush or do anything with it after sleeping with braid pigtails in; she was pretty sure she’d accidentally dipped the end of one in the blended paints on her pallet, but whatever. She’d deal with that later.
Pausing to scratch at her temple with her pinkie, paintbrush pinched carefully between her thumb and pointer finger, her attention diverted from the small canvas propped up on the sheet she sat on on the grass. It was more thanks to her peripheral vision than anything else that she happened to notice anyone coming from the back parking lot - Vic Fuentes was screaming in her ears through her airpods so she certainly hadn’t heard her company joining her. Realizing it was Gabe of all people, she did actually squint a little. Setting her brush down carefully on the edge of her pallet, the girl removed her ear buds and snapped a bubble with the gum in her mouth before kinking a brow at the older male. “What’s up, loser? Do you always creep around the back of the building or is this special just for me?”
