So far, the trip hadn’t been so bad. Barring a fight with Joey the minute they arrived, Cam didn’t have too many complaints. It was fun getting lost with Sam for a while earlier in the day, and he’d only fallen on butt while trying to snowboard a few times. No real complaints yet, except right now, he was slightly bored. A movie marathon usually would have been right up Cam’s alley. Nobody loved a good romantic comedy like he did, but he really wasn’t even sure what movie was currently playing. He didn’t want to spend three hours popping stale popcorn into his mouth when he could have been spending his time doing anything else. These sanctioned events were fine, but it was safe to say that Cam was thinking over ways to sneak out.  

His eyes glanced up toward the popcorn station when he noticed a familiar face, Dylan Hart. It would have been slightly difficult to sneak off with another person, but he would have rather spent time with than alone. Whenever she was around, he felt like he was spending time with the human equivalent of the heart eyes emoji and he liked that energy. Cam was never going to turn down an ego boost, especially if it was from a cute girl. He pulled himself up from his viewing spot and made his way over to the station, dimpled smirk spreading across his face. “Hey you,” he greeted with in a hushed tone. Throwing a fleeting look back toward the screen, he shrugged his shoulders before putting all of his attention back on her. “Are you into this movie at all or could that popcorn be taken to go?” He questioned, letting out a soft chuckle. Somehow, he was pretty confident that she was going to say yes. It wasn’t like they hadn’t been talking and vibing for a few weeks now. And finding some alone time on this ski trip sounded like the perfect opportunity to test the waters. “Would you be interested in taking a walk with me?”

Girls made almost no sense to Cam. Sure, he was a great flirt, but really, that’s as far as his expertise with women went. He almost always found himself interested in the wrong girl. For example: the lesbian he dated for the majority of his time in high school. But for once, he had finally come to his senses and was spending time with a girl who was blatantly interested in him. Dylan was hot and things were casual, which meant Cam couldn’t get his feelings hurt. And maybe it wasn’t all that fair to her to not be worried about her feelings, but he trusted himself not to hurt her. At least, not on purpose. But it was his senior year and he just deserved to have some low stakes fun. Their ride up to the view had been a great one. Dylan let Cam blast as much Mariah Carey as he wanted, which always made him happy, and they just talked. He asked about regionals and her life, and he spent a few minutes complaining about basketball season and how much he missed just hanging out with his friends. A grin spread across his face as put his car in park, immediately reaching to unbuckle his seat belt. Hanging out at the view was usually a backseat sort of event, but he wanted to ask her something first. “Okay. I may or may not have a pretty big question to ask you,” he started, letting out a soft chuckle before reaching to turn down his music. He turned his body to face hers and leaned over, draping his arm her seat. He bent down and reached for the rose he’d kept hidden on the side of his door, before passing the flower over to her with a dimpled smirk on his face. “Would you like to go to Candyland with me?”
