I find this set-up very suspicious given that there's a Targaryen man on one end of the table facing a woman of Velaryon roots seated beside a man the Targaryen man is going to kill later. 🤔🤔🤔

Just realised that this sight of Garou at his wits’ end and giving up in despair isn’t the first time we’ve seen him this way

A day and a half ago (crazy how time flies!), we saw Garou similarly pinned and out of ideas at the hands of none other than Saitama’s own disciple, Genos. In fact, Genos left him there on the tree trunk and went to fight monsters before coming back, just to add insult to injury.

The interesting parallel is that in both cases, it’s not that Garou has been physically destroyed. It’s the psychological pressure they’ve put on him by foiling his every clever move that has frozen him. I’ve noted elsewhere that Garou found facing a fellow trickster to be his Kryptonite and it looks like psychological pressure is still his biggest weakness. Of course, unlike Genos, Saitama isn’t being clever; he’s deliberately provoked Garou into throwing his biggest shots at him and no-sold every last one. The frantic way Garou has pummelled Saitama is evidence of how thoroughly Garou got dragged into Saitama’s game.

Which raises another interesting possibility. Since it was being saved from Genos that gave Garou the opportunity to grow explosively yet again, what’s having Saitama distracted by someone or something going to do for Garou this time?

Gathering his wits and evolving further in this case is only going to earn Garou a Serious Series: Serious Ass-Kicking, but I’m open to it. I’m also open to Garou and Saitama having a good, long heart-to-heart that unburdens Garou and helps him resolve the contradictions in his heart, so either way, I’m going to eat well.
