World Building 101, The world of Rivens Edge, image 1 design document, image 2 inspiration, image 3 Psychology of characters.
There are three images, the first image is the process of designing my story, and the second image is the inspiration, the third is a excerpt from my app Dr Psymeshpy that deals with psychology used in character design and interactions, there is a lot more. Final Chapter: The Lost City Clock Nexus
The lost city is unlocked in the swimming pool pedestal, once unlocked You sink into the pool, and is transported deep under the ocean into a clock room, this is where You solve a puzzle to unlock the dark nexus, taking You to a, at first pleasant looking utopia that turns out to be manipulated by dark entities, trying to learn all they can from You so they can stop Your progress. Once the veil is lifted, You realise that You are in a cavern system, in the central nexus cavern, You never went anywhere, You were stuck in time while Your imagination was being influenced, but You hacked your mind with the help of the light nexus and was able to escape the illusion, You defeat the dark nexus with the light fire given to You after lifting the illusion, and the light nexus sends You back to the Milky Way Galaxy, the sol system, Earth, The sea, the boat back with friends, a green flash on the horizon as it never happened, but You remember...
First Chapter: The Double Standard
There are multiple dimensions sub layers to physical space, but only two physical places, the milk way galaxy and the andromeda galaxy, the story takes place in the andromeda galaxy where You are transported to while sailing with friends of the coast of Türkiye near Greece.
You forgot about Your friends, Your mind is as it was erased in some parts, it is only You on the boat.
You notice a huge explosion / implosion of another boat on the sea, like a singularity, You are tempted to veer of course to investigate but have a urgent appointment in the harbour of silver city.
Inspired by Warcraft 3 and Diablo, i designed my game ideas on paper first, the world, to build into a game.
In this story the characters walk around like the old school adventure games like quest for glory, full throttle and the dig. You pick up items, that go into Your inventory and combine them, and use them to unlock things and peoples reactions.
was also inspired by the Legend of Kyrandia games, so i created a whole cave system, in this cave system You discover a portal to a alien world, that is a enclosed eco system, what You don't realise that it is in another dimension in the Andromeda galaxy. You are looking for the world cup, i huge cave structure with a living biomass and water around it, because it is the central intelligence of that universe, and will help You return back home.
As You find out, You were looking at Your parallel self being imploded on that ship, as You teleported, so the explosion was out of time, but to You it never happened.
So to get back to the lovely holiday You were having kite surfing and sailing in Cesme a foreign name meaning the fountain, You need this intelligence to teleport You there.
But off course it is not that easy is it, as the cave dimension is plagued by a very dark anti cave entity, that occupies geometric spaces, [made some cool drawings of that], these entities are insect and squid like.
The antagonist force in my idea was ill defined, simply as a nexus of anti light controlled by insect like octopi, then i got inspired by my time on reddit and the voting politics and moderation ethics, so i revised and improved greatly on them as being a shady control layer that pulls you into their kingdom by creating the illusion that it is a safe space and charming You, i also thought about the entry point to this kingdom, and put it in a lost city under the water that i made a sketch for. So in my story you have to find your way home and have to abolish the nexus of dark before the nexus of light will use its magic to send you back.
I made logo's for Interlore Productions, my satellite gaming company brand and used the treasure map i drew in pencil on watercolour paper as a background for the first retro game swim Mr Duke.
