My heart is out in #palocolorado tonight. Also of course in the parts of #carmelvalley and #salinas that have been #evacuated, and all over our beautiful #peninsula with all these #horrendousslides #massivetreecollapses #interminableblackouts and #floods. We have been following everything closely, trying to figure out how, if and where we can help. Im hosting a dinner here to #raisesomefunds to #help, but I wish we could do more for them. Both Carlos and I are extremely worried and our hearts are hurting for everyone out there, whether we know them or not. As you know, since the #soberanesfire, the amazing community of #palocoloradocanyon have lived in our hearts and become family to us, including their very brave #firechief and #firecaptain #cherylgoetz and #jakegoetz. I just spoke with them and, even knowing we won't be able to do or even know anything else until tomorrow morning when they will be able to assess the damages, I know none of us will be able to sleep here tonight thinking of them. They can't get out, we can't go in which absolutely drives us over the top insane. Having to sit here and wait #watchingthisrain that doesn't give one nanosecond of break and knowing the #profounddevastation it is causing without being able to simply get in the car and go be with them and #help is #puretorture.
