i don't think modest's intention was to make louis look straight. they might just want it to look like he closeted himself and they have nothing to do with it (thus pushing we're not controlled agenda in a livesteam). plus i'm sure for a long time there's been pure hostility between him and them, and they're just happy to shit on his image and make him look like a jerk, what they have been doing all along, or those tweets wouldn't be so aggressive and harmful to his lgbt fans

look i don't know their contracts but one thing i'm sure there's no way it says harry can come out he's in a boyband the front man no way they wouldn't have ensured he couldn't come out larry or not he would be closeted their strategies change in base of their public personas harry is the good lgbt supporter whereas louis is the rude one did you see that all articles mention his many flames he doesn't need damage control can't ruin poster boy likeability

Harry signed his new contract in February of 2012, after they had broken into North America and were international superstars. He was the frontman. He could walk away, and ruin all of them. He had some bargaining power. And what do you think would be the #1 thing on his list of demands? The right to decide when and if he would come out. I don't think it's out of the question that he managed to attain that power.

He is like...halfway out of the closet at this point. They could have done a charming and LGBTQIA+ supportive twitter denial if they had that kind of control. They don't.
