Internet Recommendation: Bravest Warriors
Are you a fan of Adventure Time? Do you like Sci-fi? How about cartoons that mix the bizarre with a pinch of heart? Cute aliens? If you said yes to all these questions then maybe you need to stop talking to your computer screen, but also you should check out Bravest Warriors on Cartoon Hangover’s YouTube.
Bravest Warriors is simply Adventure Time in space…but also shorter, internet exclusive, and intended for a slightly more mature audience. This Pendleton Ward series centers around a group of teenagers known as the Bravest Warriors who are tasked with saving the universe after their parents (The Courageous Battlers) are sucked into the See-Through Zone.
The Bravest Warriors consist of Chris (Blue), Danny (Red), Beth (Green), Wallow (Orange), and occasionally Beth’s friend Plum and a mysterious old man known as the Emotion Lord (you know, like a Time Lord, but with more feels). A huge portion of the series revolves around Chris’s hidden love for Beth and struggles related to crushing on your best friend. Outside of Chris’s pining, the Warriors undertake missions that involve a varying array of ridiculous and ridiculously adorable aliens. Fans of cute creatures take note, because once per episode you’re bound to squeal “that’s the cutest thing ever!”—which again means you’re talking to your computer like a crazy person (which is okay because Catbug is the definition of adorable.)
