Being fetishized and stereotyped onscreen is not proper representation of interracial relationships
This happens waaaaay too much with black and white Couples. Both men and women. Worse with lgbt cpuples.
Dont give me that crap that you see it too much. It's not good representation. I either see stereotypes or porn.
That's it.
That's not representation.
No not all interracial relationships and couples involve a white person. But for the ones that do. We sure as hell still get stigma and hate.
And it's not always at face value. Sometimes it's passive aggressive. I've seen it.
It sucks.
But I love my fiancé more then people hate us.
That's why I make content that shows couples like mine in positive light. Talks about heavy topics and deals with the couples and treats them like any other couple.
White people in case y'all don't know still are hated for dating interracially. And it's not always upfront.
It's shown in media too.
It's always conveiantly attractive couples too. Not average Joes, not realistic couples. It's all pretty and makeup n glitz for the camera.
Real relationships are hard work but at the same time you love this person with all your heart. They can be a plain in the ads but their YOUR pain in the ass. Nobody else can hurt them or call them that. Otherwise they'll put the Smack down.
It's also not a matter of the fact they show black n white couples a lot. It's why to they show them in a white man's perspective? Whether straight or not. Regardless if the couple is straight, bisexual, trans, queer, etc
Get an interracial couple to do more tv,movies and representation of interracial relationships and then come back to me.
That is the question your looking for.
