this was a long time ago so i may get the details fuzzy but my mom and i (both perisex) got into an argument because I confronted my mom on intersexist comments she made and she tried to justify it by saying she met an h-slur in when she was in elementary school

She didn't even pull the "I have intersex friends!" Card just the fact she MET an intersex person when she was a toddler was enough I suppose??

Also just, continuing to dehumanize the person she met is so fucked. You can't defend your bigotry because you met someone you're being bigoted towards, that's not how that works.

Okay so, um. You can't tell someone's sex just by looking at them, actually. That's quite literally impossible. Even when looking at their external genitalia, you can't fully grasp what their biological sex is. "Perisex-appearing" implies. Some things.

If I have a character who resembles an intersex person (she appears to have some sex traits that would be intersex in a human, but she's a fairy and I was thinking of having fairies in my story generally not have groupings of sex traits into sex categories) but not be literally intersex because she doesn't come from a species that has sex categories to fall outside, would that make her intersex-coded?

Also, would this risk being intersexist? Because there's a history of intersex people being dehumanised for their traits, so I don't want to make a statement that "intersex people are non human" by having non-human characters with a higher chance of appearing to have sex traits outside of "male" or "female".

Would it be okay if I mitigate this by having human intersex characters as well, or is it best to just steer clear of that worldbuilding element entirely and have fairy sex development be more similar to humans (or even give them different traits entirely)

She's an oc from (hopefully) a comic which is still in the brainstorming phase, so I am absolutely at a stage where I can make changes as needed.

Honestly, I think that it won't necessarily come off as dehumanizing intersex folks to have a more diverse and open categorization system for your fairy race, it's actually a really interesting concept that might appeal to an intersex audience!

If you feel it would be best to introduce intersex human characters, by all means do so, but I think having the concept for the fairies to be as they are is interesting enough, I'm interested in seeing how this develops!

Intersexism is not one but two doctors and one therapist all trying to touch my penis because they didn't know intersex people could have *full-sized ones so they "were just curious", "just wanted to see how normal it was", and "was just trying to help".

I reported the therapist to her ethics' board. This is a one-party consent state to record someone else without their knowledge. So there's audio of her wanting to touch my penis and trying to after I said no. The doctors were able to escape without consequences, but I got this asshole recorded.

I am literally 15 years old. Can perisex people at least wait until I'm an adult to get horny over me?!

(* also the term 'full-sized penis' is intersexist, transmisandrist and body-shaming anyone who doesn't meet an arbitrary number society has decided is 'normal'.)
