For Riley Hopkins' Interstitial 2e Jam, you too can now play as Char Aznable//Quattro Bajeenah, Samus Aran, Perry the Platypus, and of course; Tony Hawk...
Wonder what they're up to these days...
Who is the Hawk?
The Hawk is about playing someone who typically goes overlooked.
Though they have a legendary destiny or heroic accomplishments, their day-to-day persona is unobtrusive.
They tend to keep their two roles separate and relish the time away from their alter-ego.
Are you more than your alter-ego?
Do the party see that?
A game jam from 2025-03-05 to 2025-04-03 hosted by Riley Hopkins. DISCLAIMERS: No hateful shit, no transphobic shit, no ai shit. i don't hav
After seeing several Interstitial 2e playbooks pop up here and there, I have decided to make an attempt to gather them all in one spot, and further from that- to convince more people to make them!
This is a jam focused around making new Playbooks for Interstitial, which are all based on archtypes you would see in media like "The Discarded", "The Other", or "The Chosen", or are more meta books like "The Roleplayer" or "The Memory". We also introduced the idea of Everything is Interstitial- playbooks that represent whole other games that take the mechanics of Interstitial for a real spin.
If you have never game designed before, now is a great chance to start! If you have, it's a fun exercise to try and compress your game down to it's basics.
I made a playbook for Interstitial 2e, a really cool game system about crashing your blorbos together Kingdom Hearts style. This one's The $playbookName, designed for the glitches, the placeholders, the background NPCs, and everyone else not intended to ever be on the stage.
You may reasonably ask, Risk, have you ever done tabletop design before? The answer is an emphatic no, and if this playtests and turns out to suck I will accept my fate.
have you ever wanted to do wrestling in interstitial? no? ... do you want to try?
this is a playbook about wrestling is less of a playbook and more like a tool to do some wrestling in interstitial, if you want to. get it on my itch here.
hey so, interstitial 2e just dropped! and it's hosting a game jam for custom playbooks! and i made my own playbook called the Masked! it's about being a kamen rider! go check it out!
A playbook for characters who died and came back to life
I made another playbook for the Interstitial 2E playbook jam!
This is a playbook about having died and been brought back to life, coming back different, and learning to live with your new self and finding joy anew.
It fits well with video game RPG protagonists, undead characters, and in particular characters who died in their original stories.
Special thanks to Emmi, @potoobrigham, and Zarla Sheenanza for inspiring this playbook.
Some people have a moral code they live by. The Adamant has a moral code they believe everyone should live by, and they judge those around them accordingly. No one, however, is held to a harsher standard than they are. They are dogmatic, combative, and repressed.
The Adamant is a playbook for Interstitial 2e, inspired by characters like Inspector Javert, Galahad Teomes, Natsuhi Ushiromiya, and Juri Arisugawa, who avoid questioning their worldview at all costs.
My playbook for the Interstitial 2e playbook jam is done! Check it out on itch.io as The Adamant!
Do you like ttrpgs? Have you heard of one called Interstitial? If so, then boy do I have something for you! Submitted just under the wire for the Interstitial 2E Playbook Jam, here are a couple of playbooks!
There is always a price...
The Cursed is a playbook for a character who has obtained a great power, a power beyond their wildest dreams! ...That power, whether they know it or not, is going to destroy them.
A playbook built around the idea of eventually experiencing Consequences, you can use its power to never fail on a roll again... but the more you choose to do so, the faster the Consequences will catch up to you.
The Cooler Other is an alternate take on the Main Game's The Other playbook. It is, at least in theory, for an Other who sees themself as Better and Cooler than the person they're an Other of.
Surprisingly full of Heart related moves, The Cooler Other is inspired by Shadow Link... and okay, mostly just Shadow Link all the way down, here.
