#can I also get a reverse fairy tale au for Sath (Ty for the climbing class one, it was really cute :)))
There she was, skipping through the woods again. Her red hood blowing in the breeze, and an basket filled with sweets. She always had sweets with her. Beth could smell it.
“You’re never going o do it,” her brother Josh insisted. “you’re even gonna work up the balls to talk to her. even if you do, she’ll scream and run away! It’s not everyday a little village girl meets a wolf.”
They won’t wolves, they were werewolves, but they were never truly human. There was always something about them that was off, that gave them away. Josh could never fully get his ears to go away, Hannah her tail, but Beth kept her golden eyes.
Everyone knew about the Washington Wolves in the girl’s small village, so she’d recognize her as one on sight.
Most people were too afraid to go into the woods considering they lived there, but not this girl. Her and her beautiful blonde hair, and the bravery in her eyes. It was the fastest way to the village next to her’s.
The girl stopped this time on her travels. She stopped by a field of bright yellow sunflowers, carefully picking them, and Beth somehow found the courage to talk to her.
“Hello,” she said. The girl jumped slightly, but when she looked over her shoulder at Beth, there was no fear in her eyes. So the jump was just cause I startled her, thats better than her being scared of me.
“Oh,” the girl said, “Hi, sorry, I just didn’t expect to see anyone else in the woods.”
“Yeah,” Beth said, “not a lot of people do. They’re scared of some stupid wolves or something.” She joked. Beth saw no reason of dancing around the subject, the girl would have to be blind not to know.
“Those people just don’t have a spine.” The girl responded with a grin. “My name is Samantha, what’s yours, Miss Wolf?” Beth felt her heart flutter. She was sooooo going to gloat to Josh later.
“Would you care to join me on my walk?” Sam asked, “I get kinda lonely on my walks.”
“Sure.” Beth ad the girl walked side by side, talking the whole way. They joked, and by the end, Beth was so glad she’d spoken to the girl. She was on her way to see her grandfather Sully, who lived all by himself. He couldn’t take trips to the farm to get food, so Sam always brought he food, some sweets, and one or two cigars for him. Today, she decided to bring him some sunflowers too.
Sam hated her village because the people there never wanted to leave and had no sense of adventure. All the guys were meek, or they were overly confident. They bulled her friend Ashley because she loved books more than anything, and god forgive a woman who liked to read. The village “hero” Micheal “Gaston” Munroe seemed to always be bothering her, which bothered Sam a lot.
“I just want to get away from it all,” she explained. “You know, live in the woods. That would be an adventure.”
“Its not that hard,” Beth said, “I don’t know, maybe you could see my den sometime, it’s pretty nice and roomy” she didn’t care to mention that she shared it with Hannah, but she’d worry about that later.
“Maybe I will one day,” Sam said smiling. Eventually, the two of them were in front of a house on the other side of the woods. Beth had seen the place once or twice but has never been this close before.
“It’s a cute place,” Beth said.
“Yeah,” Sam paused, looking down at her feet. “ahhh,” she paused, smiling sheepishly (pun intended). “Here,” she said, handing her the sunflowers.
“What?” Beth asked, staring at them.
“They are the color of your eyes,” Sam explained, “and I’d like you to have them.” Beth blushed, “I should be coming back next week, maybe we could meet up at the sunflower field again talk.”
“Yeah,” Beth said, rubbing the back of her neck. “that sounds really nice.”
