INTJ Overstimulation
Misconception: -Loud noises, bright lights and overpowering smells or sights overwhelm us -If you INTJ is stressed reduce sensory input around them, e.g. Radio, TV, dim the lights -INTJs inherently do not like big or loud events, e.g. Concerts, conventions and parties because of overstimulation. -INTJs are generally quiet, reserved people. How it actually works: -We love enjoying sensory input! We actually are known for overindulging, e.g. Food, Internet, movies, sleeping, etc. -We become overstimulated when exposed to sensory input we did not want in the first place, e.g. Talking to people we don't like, music we hate, food we hate, places we hate, etc. -If you INTJ is stressed do not interfere with their surroundings, instead leave them alone in their own environment for a time. Multiple days may be required before they are ready to come back out into the world. -We enjoy parties/concerts/conventions (may depend on the individual) and are very capable of going all out with the best of them, but afterwards we do usually like to recharge and take it slow for a while. Just because we like things in moderation doesn't mean we don't like them outright. -It's not that INTJs don't like big experiences (travel, skydiving, meeting new people, etc,.), we are just picky people and won't indulge things we know we won't enjoy. -We are not reserved in the way you think. We are often explosive in our ramblings about things we are passionate about and some INTJs can be quite loud and verbose. This comes from our arrogance and confidence. Pensive might be a better substitute to 'reserved' as our true friends will know we are anything but.
