Your good history posts remind me that Europeans historically have had a bit of a chip on their shoulders regarding Jews. Do you know why that us or is it just the way it worked out?

Jews were some of the few major non-Christians in the region, they were also kind of stubborn about assimilating, intentionally dressing in a different manner to try (and kind of fail) to preserve their blood.

Then capitalism started very slowly forming and a lot of Christians were too stuck up to operate banks and loan offices, viewing it as beneath them. Jews didn’t and got filthy rich off the backs of stuck-up assholes, which created more animosity between them and the general population.

That’s the short version it’s, naturally, a lot more complicated than that.

He was. I am assuming you are referring to the “when some rich white guy says I’m the Iron Fist” meme? That is more in reference to the fact that Danny has this weird way of blurting out that he is the Iron Fist to people with no preamble, explanation or reasoning. Claire and Luke’s reactions just sum it up best.

Honestly, the race of the actor is the least of my issues with the IF series.I was way more forgiving of it the first time I watched it. The second time was after a rewatch of Jessica Jones and DD, and in comparison the show is just flat, lazily written, and soulless. Granted, it is still not horrible. It just doesn’t hold up. Finn Jones’ acting is far from the nuanced performances of Charlie Cox or Krysten Ritter, and he didn’t manage to sell me on the cinnamon roll side either the way that Mike Colter did.

Honestly the fact that he raises his voice when he’s nervous is one of the cutest subtle traits I’ve seen in a fictional character, and the idea of playing as the male P3 protagonist, where I can’t even hang out with him as my bro, is a huge motivation killer in playing it from his perspective. A lot of the fandom that played P3 in its original state still love Akihiko (and I mean, seeing what he goes through and how he changes would endear him to anyone) but the way they wrote his romance is far from tacked on, and I love it for that reason. Also, as much as I hate the way you have to play in order to get his romance ending or best romantic relationship, the fact that you get to see him in a romantic light really does only build onto his character, and that’s the only acceptable way to retroactively add something is when it can further inform the character.

The fact that people look up to him and think he’s super cool because he’s laid back and chill only for you to get to know him and realize that he’s super oblivious and a complete fitness nerd...jesus christ I love him so much~

The real solution to these societal problems is for men and women to grow the fuck up and stop acting like overgrown children. All of these problems stem from adults refusing to act their age and take responsibility for their problems and issues, and refusing to treat each other with respect.

That is STILL simplyfying it to an unhealthy degree.

Nothing is EVER simple enough to answer with a one-line response like that.

Shit is complex and we NEED to address it and actively think about it

Re: ThundercatsRoar the humiliating part is that Americans don't animate anymore anyway, Americans just storyboard and then send those off to Korean sweatshops for actual production IIRC. Manbun McTalentless-Hack is just the overpaid "ideas guy" while a bunch of Koreans have to do the actual dirty work. The result of not having to do actual animation anymore means that there is no more talent to be found in the American cartoon industry.

Then they have even less of an excuse to make everything look the same, they just do it because it’s easy.

I can see how the initial scene can make people uncomfortable but ultimately Fenris is in command of himself so if he's okay with it there's just not much else to say.

I agree. I don’t prefer it as the way Hawke and Fenris sleep together for the first time. My friendmance Hawke comforted him and didn’t initiate, so she did later, and he’s raring to fucking go in that scene like whewwy boi so I like it more. But yes, regardless of how eugh it is, Fenris is still in control and has the absolute capability to fight back if he was uncomfortable, especially in a situation like that.
