I find it funny that my tight circle of friends share the same issues. If one of us is a flake or in hermit mode, we all understand being introverts. One of us is depressed, all of us understand. We understand time and space is needed for recharging. We understand that sometimes, you just want to spend all day in bed binging on Netflix curled up with your pet, or playing video games. We understand need for what other people would consider excessive quiet. Sometimes, books are needed above social interaction. The small, shared world of introverts is a magical thing.

Has anyone done a study on how constant interaction effects the health of introverts? I think it should be done, because I get tired of people thinking I'm being an asshole or antisocial. I worry about one of my best friends in the army. It's not an easy thing to explain to others that haven't experienced it or have family members or close friends that are introverts.

Some study that shows how our psyche or foundation starts to crack. I know I become angry, but I know that others will become anxious, depressed, or shut down completely. 

And those reactions, I know, do damage to our bodies. It may be minor, but over an extended period of time.... For me, I can feel my blood pressure rise. Feel my muscles tense, my jaw lock, and my body in constant fight or flight mode when I reach my limit. The amount of stress my body is under isn't healthy.

I really just want some kind of literature or case study that can explain how introverts are effected and why it's healthy for us to be left alone for a little while.

I want something I can show people instead of making up excuses or having to go with "I need to be alone" and have others become frustrated, confused, or defensive with me.
