Say Rune, if you’re level 22, then why haven’t you evolved yet?
Blaise: That’s really it. Some Pokemon choose to delay their evolution or never evolve at all. Their reasons are their own business, which most tend to respect.
*Rune looks up at her brother with a slight smile, grateful that he shut the question down so she wouldn’t feel forced to explain herself.*
Blaise: Anyways, how far are we from the capital sis?
Rune: Uhh… I don’t know
Blaise: What do you mean you don’t know?
Rune: What I mean is that I can’t read the map…
*Rune holds up the map to show Blaise*
*Blaise’s face turns into a frown upon the realization that the map is ruined.*
Blaise: Aww, dad made that map specially for us. He even left a little note for us. It’s all gone now?
Rune: It was also our ONLY map and we have no clue where we are. I knew that we should’ve packed another map.
I should’ve asked for directions, but I thought that we didn’t need them. I mean, it’s such a simple path, and I got us lost! I’m sorry Blaise, this is all my fault…
*Rune threw the map down in a huff and sat down to try and think of some sort of solution.*
Blaise: Hey, we can’t just sit here pondering all day! It’s almost night time! Didn’t the map say that the capital was a straight shot after that last turn? Well, maybe if we keep going, we will come across something!
*Blaise had an optimistic and cheerful tone to his voice. He fished in his tail for a compass, which he was able to find after a bit of a struggle.*
Blaise: Let’s just keep going northeast!
*He excitedly swept up his shocked sister and sat her in his tail.*
Rune: Well, I guess that I don’t have much of a choice in this, do I?
Blaise: Nope!
*The pair continued to walk for a little while longer. Blaise enjoyed the slight breeze and stopping once in a while to admire the view of the forest or some flowers. Rune seemed to calm down and enjoy the ride as well. The sun had began to set when they reached the top of a hill, where they saw that the trail ended a little bit away and led into a village. Closer to them, however, was what seemed to be an old cottage by itself.*
Blaise: Look! A house! We could stop there and see if they’ll let us stay the night
*Rune’s face scrunched up at the idea of randomly knocking on the door of a house alone in the middle of the woods. The stories they were told as kids actively discouraged something like that. The fox Pokémon jumped from their brother’s tail and onto the ground. She lifted her paw to point at the village in the skyline.*
Rune: And if you look a little further, there’s a village! If we hurry, we could make it before nightfall!
*Blaise slumped his shoulders and let out an annoyed sigh. Rune rolled her eyes in response.*
Blaise: But that’s so far, and my feet are starting to hurt. Would it hurt us to just knock on the door and ask?
Rune: Yes it would, cause what if there’s a dangerous pokemon in there. Come on, we should just go to the village. It’s safer.
