Hmmm... For Do Us Any Harm. This is such an interesting one. I wrote it for the TS Storytime Big Bang and therefore outlined and wrote most of it in March and April. A few scenes were essentially bullets (in particular, the rescue of Thomas and Patton—but not Virgil—and the last scene with Anja and Janus.)
Anja's impact on Logan was an early, early part of it and I literally screamed to see it in WTIT. I imagined much more significant after effects, though. 🧡
The big change from my original plan for that fic was the nature of Intruloceit. I had originally intended their relationship to be completely, utterly, and unambiguously platonic, even starting out a little antagonistic. I wrote most of their scenes that way.
And then two things happened.
First, i finished Servatis (a) Curiositas and the depth of Janus and Logan's very much unacknowledged but equally very much not platonic love for each other became undeniable.
Then, as I completed more research on the daily living conditions for pirates... Putting the three of them together like that with the back story in Servatis, Shackled, and Perennials suddenly made everything a lot more ambiguous.
And now I'm just showing my whole heart with the next fic in the Side by Side in the Mindscape series, A Little Bit of Love. I was originally hoping to have that ready to publish this weekend, but it needs a bit more time, so it will likely be for a certain lovely day the first week of November.
