❀ An entry for InuKag Fluff Week: Day 1 - Comfort ❀ Happy InuKag Fluff Week!! I finished this when @inukagfluffweek was just around the corner ;u;

Summary: The sweet inflections of Kagome's voice whenever she reminisced about the era she left behind has Inuyasha worried about her happiness in the Sengoku era. Does he really deserve to feel happy, knowing what it had cost her?...

“Working hard, Inuyasha?”

Lugging a hearty basket of plants and herbs in her arms, Kagome beamed a smile at her husband as she approached him, who was slashing away furiously at a few gargantuan tree trunks. The two of them were out for the afternoon near the forest, gathering supplies for themselves and the residents of Kaede’s village.

“Kinda have to, don’t I?” Inuyasha huffed. “This village burns through firewood like crazy… but I swear, half of these are for your baths.”

She chuckled at his bluff. “Sorry. I’ll tone down the baths soon, I promise. Here, let me help.”

“No, Kagome, it’s fine. Just go gather more of the herbs.”

“I’ve gathered enough for the week." She set her basket down with a resolute thud. "And it’s the least I can do, since you said half of these are for my baths, right?” she poked back in jest, already adjusting her sleeves. “I won’t get in your way.”

Day 7 - Honeymoon

I thought Kagome would like to spend their honeymoon by the seaside, and Inuyasha doesn't mind as long as he gets to spend time with his wife ❤️
