Started posting up more slowdowns of KHDR attacks, so here's Rosea Arcanum at 1/10th speed.

Of note: Xehanort's keyblade briefly emits motes of purple darkness around it as he manifests the ethereal blade for a couple frames. This is completely missable at normal speeds/the reference gifs on khwiki. I think this aspect is notable when discussing the fact that Rosea Arcanum is one of only a couple cards that hurts baby Xehanort to use, especially in the greater context of BBS Unknown having low hp by default and utilizing Ethereal Blades constantly.

Here's is a video that splices together the conversation Vidar has with Odin in 'True Darkness' in Theater Mode with the one shown in 'To Face True Darkness' to prove a point : that it's very likely that these were

1. the same conversation, considering Vidar basically follows up Odin's mentioning of True Darkness from Section A in "True Darkness"

2. likely took place after Hoder perished and

3. Odin was the one who got the idea of summoning Kingdom Hearts in Vidar's head via him saying that's the only other possible way to theoretically expunge darkness/destroy darkness for good without killing the vessel of darkness. Also, literally gave out the unclear instructions involving seven lights.

I've left the transition between the two scenes clunky/ 'as-is' rather than overediting it to make it seem more seamless than it is so people can draw their own conclusions.

I also made this so even if you disagree with the conclusions I make in the annotated/commentary cut (which is linked in the description of this video) you can at least get to see the two pieces of Odin talking to Vidar alone in the same video.

Dialogue I missed in previous playthroughs due to times I usually went to Argene in the time Prior to the town emptying. Confirmation that Ziegfield/Kierkegaard (and likely other Hallowed) flat-out eats the Flos Indulgentia, also.

This dialogue seems to only show up at certain times of day before it gets super late at night, and ofc p sure it doesn't appear After Ziegfield/Kierkegaard is defeated or after a certain point in Argene.

people have been talking about the fact Pecharunt blinks in their shell if you clip through while they're awake, which is very cute! (I have vids of that too but you can look around and find those.

But here's the funnier fact: from what I can tell (i am bad at manipulating the camera), Pecharunt's sleep animation specifically does Not have their eyes close, and they very specifically do Not blink when asleep and sleep with their eyes wide open. Very cool, Pecharunt.

Aaand now for the slowed down scene + additional body language notes post I've been kinda nervous re:posting.

If you slow down the scene where Baldr and Hoder draw keyblades on each other... well. You'll see.

I will also in this same post remind people:

Hoder was in Xehanort's heart during the entire sequence where Vidar, Vala, and Vali were struck down in front of Xehanort and Eraqus by Baldr. Considering how heart stuff is handled in KH1 with Kairi, it's pretty reasonable to assert she probably uh. Knows About That/Possibly Saw That.

In the first place, Hoder was someone who, despite the danger, tried to go and talk with Maleficent about Aurora's curse despite being told to wait by her classmates. From the outset, we know that her desire to do things she believes are right is like, a strong factor, and one that will surpass everything else. Even if it hurts.

This makes the little animations in this sequence where Hoder suddenly reacts horrified/upset feel like. A sequence of her realizing Baldr was quite possibly initially serious about stepping down before that point/it wasn't a trick and um. Not Doing Well, as a result. But at that point, it's too late. It's quite sad.
