the invisibaby // a cluttering companion
ALKSD;JFLKASDJF I AM SO VERY HAPPY to finally get to share this little labor of love with you all! it’s something i’ve been needing in my game for soooo long and i finally went ahead and made it for myself! there were lots of failures and setbacks along the way but with the help of some wonderful people i managed to bring my tiny little invisibaby to life!

the invisibaby is a helpful little object that i always assumed someone else must have already thought of and made, but when i actually asked around in the hopes of downloading it, i found out that it apparently didn’t exist. so, i decided to make it for myself.
it’s basically a small little box (cloned from EA’s base-game tissue box) that you can place on any surface to fill that surface’s slots, so that your clutter and decorations will stop snapping to those slots and you can place them freely over the surface, wherever you’d like.
if the surface has 4 slots, place 4 invisibabies. if the surface has 20 slots, place 20 invisibabies. obviously, for cc-surfaces that have dozens of slots, this object may not be practical or even necessary. that said, it’s 100% invisible when switched to the white swatch, so if you want to place 100 invisibabies, you totally can, and you won’t see a trace of them.
once the surface’s slots are filled with bright red invisibabies, turn them translucent using the pink swatch. now you’ll be free to place any clutter or decorations you’d like on that surface without any snapping to slots, and without normal slot-filler objects (like the normal EA tissue box) obstructing your view.
you can use the bb.moveobjects cheat along with the 0 and 9 keys, or use an adjustable OMSP to get your clutter to the correct height
i use either amoebae’s OMSP shelf (found here) or a duplicate of the surface i'm cluttering to get my clutter to the height i need, then drag the clutter over to my slot-filled surface by holding the option key (i believe it’s the alt key on PC)
after placing all the clutter your little heart desires, you can go back and delete the invisibabies, or turn them invisible using the white swatch and leave them there - i promise, they’re totally, 100% invisible. in fact, i'm probably going to start a game called guess how many invisibabies are on the table, because they’re impossible to see once you’ve applied the white swatch 👀
bonus! you can also use the invisibaby to fill any slot that you want to appear empty, but you don’t want your sims to use or place objects on. this is especially helpful to keep your sims from leaving dirty dishes on bookshelves and half-walls!
