June 7 - St. Patrick’s Cathedral
It still felt strange, to be doing normal things again. Things like grocery shopping, despite the fact he didn’t eat all that often. For the most part, he was doing it for the familiarity, and for those few that came by like Claire. She had more or less recovered her appetite, and even if he hadn’t it felt rude to have bare cupboards.
Now he was very particular where he did his shopping, even more than before, preferring small places where it was virtually impossible to track customers. So far, his caution seemed to have paid off, and there had been no incidents of late. Perhaps they had finally lost his trail and would leave him alone.
Passing by the St. Patrick’s Cathedral he couldn’t help himself but stop and admire it for a few moments, giving his hand a rest from the grocery bag but also taking time to feel some nostalgia for such an old building. He wasn’t religious in any sort of sense, it was difficult to see what he had and think that any god would allow it, but at the same time he could admire some of the precepts for which it stood. Even if they were far-fetched and would never be fully realized, the idea of treating one’s fellow mankind with decency was an idea he had always found attractive.
He glanced up, noticing another person. More than that, someone he recognized from the safe house.
