Feeling unsure and out of place, even as a bridesmaid to one of her closest friends, Joanna knew she was edging on the line between now and never. Stepping into the kitchen as she helped to pack things up, with everyone else having gone home, she approached the other woman hesitantly. “Hey...” She swallowed thickly and winced at her own tone, too casual to express what she intended to say. “Okay,” She stood up straight, knowing she had her attention, and forced words out of her mind. “I really just, I need you to know something. And I’m not saying it has to change anything, in fact, I don’t think... I don’t think it will at all. But, you should know. You should have known like... Years ago.” She paused, her shoulders dropping as she tried to get the hard part out. Against her front, she toyed with her hands, clearly nervous. “I have feelings for you.”
