The thick taste of metal still coats his mouth. There's a cut somewhere along the inner cheek, near one of the molars. Atsuya runs his tongue along the wound, pressing to gather excess blood before spitting it out towards the side. Shit stings, but it's fine. Better than the crumpled things around him at least.

If he's being honest, going home sounds a whole lot better. Yet the familiar cramping in his stomach makes it known he's nearing an empty tank. And, well, pizza doesn't sound that bad right now.

Fuck it. Why not?

A deep breath is drawn in. Bruised ribs. At least two. He'll manage. A hand lifts to run through sweat soaked hair; all of which still stand pin straight, undeterred by the weight of drying salt. He breathes out, letting the air gust forth in a mix of fatigue and mild exasperation. "Yeah, sure. Got a place in mind?"
