You guys remember that post about ‘Monster Rancher + Monster Rancher 2 DX’ where I offered advice. Well, there were a few things I forgot to mention.
During Archaeological expeditions, High power makes it more likely that your monster will break an obstacle if your monster attacks an obstacle.
* During Archaeological expeditions, High Intelligence makes it more likely that your monster will find something if you send it into an ancient building/ ruined structure
(2) in MR2, the devs built on high intelligence for expeditions in the way that a monster will find hidden alternate routes on the map that can act as shortcuts if it’s intelligence is very high.
When combining monsters together to make a new monster, there’s a formula called the “60-40 ratio”, what that basically means is that if your monster’s sub breed species is a longer lived species than it’s main breed species, then your monster’s life span will be longer by 60% of your sub-breed species’ life span, and vice-versa if your monster’s sub-breed is a shorter lived species than it’s main breed species.
* There are 10 stages of your monster’s life cycle that every monster will go through, those stages are: Infancy, Childhood, Adolescent 1, Adolescent 2, Prime, Elder 1, Elder 2, Old Age, and Twilight. But NOT every monster goes through these stages at a “One-size-fits-all” pace.
(2) Henger, Arrow Head, and Durahan, and monsters with a Henger sub-breed, an Arrow Head sub-breed, or a Durahan sub-breed have their stress levels subtracted by 20% if fed a Nuts Oil.
(2) There are four “Life Types”, which are the rates/paces at which your monster will age through it’s life cycle, which are ALL determined 100% by your monster’s SUB-BREED.
1. The “Normal” Life Type. This type has no real “Ups or Downs” (Pun intended), and Monsters with the following Sub Breeds fall under this type:
Arrow Head, Mochi, Bajarl, Hare, Gali, Centaur, Henger, Jell, Metallner, Monol and Zuum
2. The “Precocious”, Life Type: This type has a short Childhood, followed by a long old age. Monsters with the following Sub Breeds fall under this type:
Tiger, Naga, Pixie, Plant, Dragon, Suezo, Mock, Ghost Beaclon and Hopper. This sub-type is GREAT for sending it to lots of tournaments to farm prize money.
3. The “Late-Bloomer” Type: This type has an annoyingly long childhood, followed by a frustratingly short “Old Age” stage of life, so it’s NOT a good Type for prize money farming later in it’s life. Monsters with the following Sub Breeds fall under this type: Ape, Baku, Color-Pandora, Gaboo, Zilla, Wracky, Golem, Jill, Kato, Niton, Worm, and Phoenix.
4. The “Sustainable” type. This type is basically a mixture of all of the 3 types listed above in perfect balance. Only 5 monster sub-breeds have this type: Durahan, Ducken, Joker, Undine, and Mew.
(2) After a monster that you’ve raised wins a lot of Battling Tournaments and gets very famous, and earns a high rank, you will receive a doll in the mail from a “Fan”, and your monster will ask for the doll. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONSTER THIS DOLL!!!! After you refuse to give the doll to your monster, have a monster die. (Any monster works for this, except for Phoenix or Metallner which are technically “Immortal”) After the funeral, something....interesting will happen.
(2) After a monster that you’ve raised wins a lot of Battling Tournaments and gets very famous, and earns a high rank. the next time you shop at Auntie Verde’s Item Shop Auntie Verde will gift you seeds that were “Offered as payment by a wandering Wholesaler”. After Colt plants the seeds, a Tree will grow over the course of several years, then wither and die. After the tree withers, allow a monster to die. (Again, any monster works for this, except for Phoenix or Metallner which are technically immortal.) Again, after the funeral, something....interesting will happen
(2) If/When a Monster dies, Master Pabs will suggest building an Altar for the deceased monster, you should take the offer up, as the altar is a requirement for unlocking a certain species of monster.
